If you don't know what to practice, just practice "toss batting"

For all the players who have just started playing baseball, and for their parents.
If you've just started playing baseball and don't know what kind of practice you should do, just do toss batting.
What is toss batting?
As the name suggests, toss batting is a batting practice in which the ball is tossed from below and hit into a net or onto the ground.
It is sometimes called tee batting, but the correct term is toss batting.
Toss batting is also the practice of gently hitting back a ball that is lightly thrown over the shoulder from a distance of about 10 meters to the opponent, so to be honest, the definition of toss batting is a bit messed up, so you'll have to get by with the nuances of the situation. (laughs)
However, please understand that in this article, toss batting refers to the practice of hitting the ball back after it is tossed from below.
From little league baseball to professional baseball, people are crazy about toss batting!

When it comes to baseball practice, toss batting is always at the top of the list.
This toss batting technique is also practiced at professional baseball training camps.
When I go to watch a little league baseball game on the riverbank, everyone is just tossing the bat.
Even when I go to watch practice at a school that regularly participates in Koshien, everyone is doing toss batting.
What is it that has captivated everyone so much? They're all batting tossing, awake or asleep.
When it comes to toss batting, the ball is often tossed diagonally from the batter, but in recent years it has been said that having the ball tossed from the pitcher's direction is a better way to practice than hitting a ball coming at an angle, and front-toss batting is gradually becoming more common, especially in professional baseball.
However, front toss batting requires a protective net, so it cannot be done casually, and so toss batting, where the ball is tossed diagonally, is still the mainstream style.
Things to keep in mind when tossing batting

When it comes to the purpose of toss batting, everyone agrees that it is to "solidify your swing," but
To be honest, that's just not good enough.
Since you'll be hitting the ball, swing with all your might and aim for a home run.
Nakamura Takeya (currently with Seibu), who has been the home run king many times, also practices hitting the bottom of the ball as much as possible to give it spin and send it flying high.
When toss batting, it is important to swing hard with the image of hitting the ball into the center back screen, rather than hitting a grounder.
How many balls should I hit?
The average time for each player to hit is about 100 balls, but when I was in high school (at Chiben Wakayama), it was the norm for us to hit at least 300 balls, and even after the whole team practice was over, we would turn on the lights in the indoor practice field and practice toss batting every night.
However, if you were to swing it with all your might like I mentioned earlier, you probably wouldn't even last 100 balls.
It's more important to use 100% of your power and make a full swing, so instead of focusing on a quota of how many balls you should hit, you should think about whether you hit a good ball.
Recommended practice methods
One technique that is often recommended is "continuous toss batting."
However, compared to how difficult this exercise is, you cannot expect much benefit.
In fact, I do not recommend it as it will result in you repeating an unrealistic swing forever, which could ruin your form.
One technique I would recommend is rhythm toss batting. It's introduced in the video, so be sure to check it out!
This practice allows you to practice with the same swing you will use in a match.
This means that you can practice with high quality in mind, with the game in mind!
Everyone, please give it a try!!
How can I practice more efficiently?

We will teach special methods recommended for those who want to practice more efficiently.
The answer is "rely on your tools!!"
This does not mean that you should just buy good tools and rely solely on the quality of the tools to achieve results.
It means that you should rely on tools to improve your practice efficiency.
Recently, there are many different types of bats available.
A lot of really great products are now being developed, some of which were developed with the involvement of former professionals.
Among them, I will introduce to you some carefully selected items that will supercharge your practice efficiency, so please take a look!
The classic training bat: the bamboo bat
No need to explain! The bamboo bat is the most popular bat.
This bat can actually be used for hitting, making it ideal for training!
Bamboo bats are bats made from bamboo. They are known for their durability and have long been popular as training bats.
Recently, bamboo bats have started to attract attention.
This is because it has been decided that new standard low-rebound bats will be introduced in high school baseball starting in 2024, and the skill to hit the ball with the center of the bat will be more important than ever before.
Bamboo bats are made with a very narrow core, so if the ball is not hit with the core, it will not fly as far. This feeling of not flying is similar to the feeling of the new low-rebound bats, so it is said that using a bamboo bat for regular practice will be a good countermeasure against low-rebound bats.
Bamboo bats are economical

Bamboo bats are made from inexpensive raw materials and can be purchased relatively cheaply.
It is an item that is inexpensive to purchase, highly durable, can be used for a long time, and has excellent cost performance.
In addition, it is durable enough to be used for actual hits and has features that allow you to practice hitting the ball right at the center, so this bat will likely attract even more attention in the future!

For those who want to increase their flight distance, we would like to introduce
"HEAD RUN BAT" is the first product produced by Minoruman!
When it comes to headlamps, many people probably think of the Minorman bat first, right?
The head is extremely large, bulging and heavy, allowing you to develop a sharp swing with the effective head, which is essential for batting.
Using this bat will allow you to increase your swing speed and hit the ball the farthest you've ever hit, so it's highly recommended for players who are looking to improve their long-distance hitting ability!

A bat recommended for those who want to improve their hitting ability

Next up we'd like to introduce GET LINE BAT!
The Get Line bat is characterised by its impactful shape!
When you hit the ball right in the center of the large shuttlecock-shaped hitting surface, the feeling of hitting the ball is very satisfying, and this item will help you develop the ability to intuitively hit the ball in the center.
Also, by making a level swing, where the swing is horizontal to the ground, the hitting surface will naturally match the ball's trajectory, increasing the chances of hitting the ball right in the center.
You can see the angle at which the ball travels and check whether your swing is correct, making your independent practice more fulfilling than ever before.

A choice with an eye to the future!?

Since memory foam bats were introduced in high school baseball this year, wooden bats have been gaining attention.
We often receive inquiries about this maple bat , "Can I use this in a match?"
Maple bats are bats used in games by many players, including professional baseball players.
[Minoruman will also be developing a maple bat this spring!]
We have released the "ULTIMUS" model, which is made using North American maple, a highly resilient bat material that is known as the "king" of maple bat materials.
Ideal for junior and senior high school students to practice

In recent years, the number of junior and senior high school students who practice using these maple bats has been increasing.
Junior and senior high school students usually use metal bats in regular games, but when they reach college level and above, they switch to wooden bats, and many players seem to struggle to hit with these wooden bats.
Since it takes a certain amount of time to get used to wooden bats, an increasing number of players who aspire to play baseball at a high level from an early age are using wooden bats in practice.
For players who are aspiring to become a professional baseball player in the future, having a maple bat will allow them to easily switch to wooden bats in the future, so it would be a good idea to have one!
